SHINE RELIEF TRUST NZ BOARD
LYNLEY MARETT
Founder & Director
A Camping Trip from Johannesburg to Nairobi roused a passion for this part of the World and a desire to spend more time with the African People. Through my daughter's friendship in Hull in the UK with a couple from Malawi - Suzen and Hastings Zidana, I became involved in the instigation of the Shine Relief Trust UK.

In 2015 following Hollie's return to New Zealand we established the NZ Shine Relief Trust with the intention of supporting the work being done in the greater Zomba district by Suzen and Hastings where they had returned to live.
I have been a Primary School Teacher and Principal for most of my working years and now operate a Private Tuition Business focusing on Literacy and Maths Learning for Primary Aged Children and Students for whom English is their second language.
Shine Learning supports Shine Relief Trust's focus on providing Education Bursaries for Students.

Part of my role as Director involves making an Annual Visit to Malawi to meet with Suzen and her Team and review our Shine Students.
HOLLIE TURNER
Founder & Trustee
Shine Relief Trust NZ was founded in 2015 by my mother, Lynley Marett, and myself, following my return from the UK where I had previously been involved in Shine Relief Trust UK and Malawi.
I served for 2 years on the Board of Trustees for Shine UK before moving into my role as their fundraising co-ordinator, organising outdoor fundraising events such as charity walks, bike rides and the Three Peaks Challenge.
My passion for the children and people of Malawi arose from a family Safari through Africa in 2008 where the "Warm Heart of Africa" captured my heart and created a desire to help and empower those in need physically, financially and spiritually.
This was followed by a further visit with the UK Team in 2010, after the return of the Zidana family from the UK to Malawi, for the establishment of the Shine Project in the rural region of Kuntumanji, Malawi.

I have served on the Board as a Trustee since it's inception in 2015. I am currently acting as Treasurer and managing Media & Promotion.

GAYLE BORMAN
Secretary
I am a Trustee of Shine Relief Trust NZ and currently acting as secretary.
LYNDAL WATT
Trustee
I became involved with Shine Relief Trust NZ because I am passionate about contributing to making the lives of the less fortunate a little brighter. I can see the difference the involvement of Shine is making in Malawi.
I have worked at grassroots level with Not for Profit organisations providing guidance, mentoring and information in my previous paid role as Coordinator of Volunteering Mid which I held for five and a half years.
I have attended and organised many workshops for Not For Profit groups including Intercultural Awareness and Communication, Dealing with difficult people, Governance, Health & Safety, Financial Management and Committee Roles.
I reside in Timaru with my husband and 13 year old daughter.

Lyndal has made many sales of stamps and other items at Stamp Fairs and on Trade Me to supplement the Shine Relief Trust New Zealand's General Funds.
ANDREW MURDOCH
Trustee
I am a Trustee of the Shine Relief Trust New Zealand.
When the Shine Trust was formed,I was interested in becoming involved as I saw this as an opportunity to help people overseas who have fewer opportunities than we have here in New Zealand.
After my initial visit to Malawi I found I have a heart for the people there and want to be able to assist them further through the Shine Project.
